The Pure Highway 300di DAB Car Radio Converter overcomes the major dislike of using a DAB car radio converter/adaptor, All those cables! As with other converters the 300di receives the digital signals and plays them through your existing car stereo system.
Pure have designed the 300di so that the main unit is installed in the glove box or behind the dashboard and the controller (detachable)attached to the front of the dash, so that all the cables are hidden and a neat finish with a lot less clutter is the result. You no longer need to have the converter stuck onto the windscreen. Because of this it is probably best to leave the fitting to a professional unless you are very capable.
The pure Highway provides access to all of the current digital stations through the use of two digital tuners. Using two tuners means that you can be listening to one station while the 300Di can continue to monitor for new stations and allows it to keep its station list up to date at all times.
The Pure Highway 300Di communicates with your existing head unit either by an aux cable or by retransmitting an FM broadcast.

If you have an iPhone/iPod or even iPad and want to play it through your DAB Car Radio converter then look no further! This new Pure Highway is completely Apple (made for iPhone/iPod) compatible and approved by apple. You can connect, and control your iPod iPhone or iPad and even a usb key, which you can also use to upgrade the software in the unit. You can even use your 300di as a charger for these apple devices.

Fed up with stick on DAB car radio converter aerials?
Reception is improved by including an active (powered) through windscreen aerial. You can replace this with a magnetic stick-on if you really wanted, for example if you have a heat-reflective windscreen, You can even use the internal stick on aerials. Although there are several aerial solutions, Pure recommend using the supplied one for the best reception in most cases. The supplied aerial comes in two parts, one which fits to the outside of the windscreen and the internal pickup which fits on the inside. If you need to, you can still remove the aerial and refix if you get a broken windscreen.
This model also works on DAB/DAB+/DMBR and L-band which means that it will still work if you drive into Germany, France or some other parts of europe. (It won’t translate for you though!)
The new 300di dab car radio converter is also improved by the addition of a pause and rewind function. This allows for the two functions which Pure have named “Forecourt Pause” and “Picnic Mode”.
Forecourt pause means that if you leave the car for a short while, when you return the unit will continue to play an iPod track from where you left off, you can pause live radio for 8 minutes while you fill the car up.
Picnic Mode lets you play music with the ignition off for up to an hour. In both these cases they are subject to the car not switching the electrics of after a set period of time, e.g. 15 minutes, which some will do.
The good news is that Halfords will be the first supplier of the 300di converter and are offering free fitting to early takers until the end of 2011. After this fitting will probably cost in the region of £25.00. The units will be on general release in March 2012.
